Who can use this feature

→ All renters enrolled in the Openroom Rent Rewards Program

Does every dispute get looked at?

When an amount is disputed, Openroom will review your dispute within 10 business days from the time you file this dispute.


However, disputes made without supporting evidence will be rejected. You will be notified of the rejection to investigate further.

How do I dispute?

You must have an Openroom account before you dispute because we need to validate you and that it's associated with an open Rental Debt record reported through Openroom.
Click on Rent Rewards on the left-side menu.

What does the dispute process look like?

→ You submit a dispute, with evidence.

→ We pause the reporting of claimed rental debt record to the Credit Bureau, if substantiated.


→ We reach out to your property management office.


→ We wait 7 business days for a response backIf no response back, we proceed with your claim to make adjustments where necessary.


→ If response back, we look at the evidence both parties supplied to make a declaration.
