Is it really free to get my credit report from Equifax?
Yes. You’re entitled to request your credit report for free at least once a year, either online or by mail.

Will checking my own credit report affect my credit score?
No. Requesting your own credit report is considered a “soft inquiry” and has no impact on your credit score.

You can file a dispute directly with Equifax to investigate and correct any inaccurate information. Visit their dispute page for instructions.

Can I also get my credit score for free?
Your credit report is free, but your credit score may not be included. Equifax may charge a fee to view your score, or you can check with your bank or credit card provider - many offer it for free.

How often should I check my credit report?
It’s recommended to check your credit report at least once a year, or more frequently if you’re planning a major financial decision or suspect fraud.
