How to get a credit report from TransUnion Canada
Consumers have the right to request a copy of their own credit report from TransUnion for free.

There are two main ways to request a Consumer Credit Report via TransUnion directly
Visit the TransUnion Canada website and use their free online tool to view your credit report instantly. You’ll be asked to verify your identity with personal information such as your SIN, date of birth, and address history.

Download and complete the Consumer Request Form (also called the “Consumer Disclosure” request), and send it along with copies of two valid pieces of ID (e.g., driver’s license, utility bill) to:

Steps to get your TransUnion Consumer Report / Disclosure
→ Create an account with TransUnion. Start here on TransUnion Canada's website.

→ Review their pop-up disclaimer and then click Continue

→ Fill in details about yourself and set up an account with credentials

→ Verify your identity whereby they send you a 6-digit verification code to your email

→ Click on Continue to Enter Site.
DO NOT ENTER ANY CREDIT CARDS because this is FREE!!!
You do not need to worry about anything else on the site for the time being.
There might be situations where they send you a receipt and say they've billed you for something but the reality is that they didn't. You didn't enter your credit card so do not worry!

→ In a new tab, click on the original link again: TransUnion Canada's website.
This time, click Login. It should automatically log you in because you just set up your account.
If it doesn't, click on Login and enter the credentials you just set up your account with.

→ Click on Get a copy of your Consumer Disclosure

→ Click Continue

→ Click Download or print your full Consumer Disclosure (PDF).

What else you should know
Yes. You're entitled to receive a free copy of your credit report (also called a “Consumer Disclosure”) once per year.
Will checking my own credit report affect my credit score?
No. This is considered a “soft inquiry” and does not impact your credit score.
What if I find an error on my report?
You can submit a dispute directly to TransUnion. They will investigate and respond within 30 days.
